It is learned from the basic building and management center and the administrative committee of the development area, the steel structure of the newly-built exhibition hall were completed, while the steel structure out of the comprehensive building will be completed within this month, the curtain wall covered on the external brim will be closed in mid this month, thus engineering related to the current phase I will be totally completed before the end of the this month. As the main venue of 2008 Summer Davos Forum, the center will welcome leaders from political and economic circles of various countries and enterprise principles and receive inspection of well-known experts.
The exhibition center will become a regional cultural brand
As one of key building projects of Tianjin, the phase I of Binhai International Convention & Exhibition Center covers an area of 6100m2, while the phase II will features a plane fan-shaped building which metaphorizes the concept of “holly land of elite collection” and stands for the place gathering multiple waterways, highways, railways and airlines. It will be integrated with the phase I after completion, forming the core functional and landscape area together with the artificial lake in the north, the super high hotel built on the island in the lake, TEDA soccer field and TEDA civil square and creating a cultural atmosphere with regional characteristics and multiple functions, thus becoming a brand for the regional culture.
The phase II of Binhai International Convention & Exhibition Center covers an total building area of 60300m2. It includes main exhibition hall, underground parking lot, comprehensive building and kitchen. The first floor is furnished with the registration hall, the front hall, the great exhibition hall and the temporary exhibition hall, of which the great exhibition hall includes 462 exhibition booths and the temporary hall is equipped with 140 exhibition booths. It can offer 5800m2 as the venue for 2008 Summer Davos Forum and have a capacity of 2000 persons for meeting and dining. The second floor includes multifunctional halls for 500 persons and 300 persons as well as a report hall for 1270 persons. The underground garage covers an area of 29600m2 and have a capacity of 761 motor vehicles. It has four independent evacuation outlets, six evacuation staircases leading to the exhibition hall and three evacuation staircases leading to outdoor square, thus facilitating participants to come into and go out of the exhibition hall rapidly.
Welcome the non-governmental international summit forum in 2008
According to plan, the phase II of Binhai International Convention & Exhibition Center will be completed in next May and ascertained as the main venue to welcome domestic and foreign guests for “Summer Davos Forum”——a non-governmental international summit forum. In order to getting ready for the reception and service for the “2008 Summer Davos Forum”, it has already started up English training, foreign ritual training, security skill training and professional service training for all staff of the exhibition hall.
